Q1. How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?

I was always fascinated when I used to get my haircut. I was drawn towards hair styling from the age of 18. I did few professional courses while I was in college. When I was 21, I realized that this is my passion and this is what I’m born to do.

Q2. Kindly share some information about your Business, products and services here.

I have my own salon at Mahim by the name of Loca Salon, running for the past 4 years. We do all beauty service from hair to skin and nails. From hair cuts to shaving to hair smoothening to Cysteine treatment to keratin to head massages & hair spa. From eyebrows to waxing to facials , manicure and pedicure. We also do Nail extensions and gel polish too. At Loca salon we believe, in quality service at a reasonable rate. We are very pocket friendly and our service quality is excellent. 

Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?

By gods grace we didn't face much hardship. Although in the initial period it was bit difficult to pull in clients. The first 6 months was a lot of hard work.

Q4. Do share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?

We worked over time and gave a lot of complimentary services. That time I discovered that people want Hygiene. Most of the salons are unhygienic with old towels and bad equipments and used duplicate products on clients. But for us Hygiene is no.1 priority since the beginning. And for that we have to be up-to-date with the new products in the market and use genuine products which come directly from the authorised dealer. 

Q5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period?

After the first 6 months, I upgraded my staff. We got in new Hairstylist and Beautician with new techniques. Upgrading was big change but it helped a lot. Having staff who are talented is boon to your business. We also launched a new range of Keratin and Cysteine treatment after the first 6 months. We got a new set of facials with new machinery. We even changed the quality of your towels. Upgrading is the key. 

Q6. What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next 

In the next five years, we aim to open 6 Salons. We are talking it to the Investors and 2 salons are on the pipeline for 2021. My future plan is to have a chain of Salons and build an army of clients. 

Q7. How would you advise/suggest new Entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in business?

If you want to start a Salon business, you have to have 3 keys ingredients:

  1. Creativity
  2. Confidence 
  3. Consistency 

Nothing comes easy. There is a lot hard work behind every successful business. You have to be Passionate and Motivated every single day . 

Every client is important. When you have your own business, you have to make sure all your clients gets good service and they are happy before they walk out of your salon.
