Q1. How did your career journey start? Or who/ what inspired you to start this business?

Aircrafts are fascinating objects. They fulfil the man’s desire to soar up in the sky. They are also highly convenient in terms of speed and the quickness by which they transport a person or a group to the desired destination. Hence, loving them and getting inspired by them was obvious for me. The thing that I disliked about the industry was its mismanagement and lack of sector. So, I decided to overcome this gap and co-found the air charter company.

The seeds for entrepreneurship were sowed when I joined one Air Charter company in 2005. Initially a salesperson, I moved up the corporate ladder and within seven months was appointed as the Head (Sales & Marketing). This was an exciting life phase where I travelled to various Indian metro cities and interacted with the dynamic sales and marketing teams. While the position endowed me with power and prestige, I still had little control to make any positive change in the industry. I was appalled by the lack of organization and system in the aviation sector and it propelled me to undertake a momentous step. In 2009, I cofound Foresees Aviation and started on my entrepreneurial journey. 

Q2. Kindly share some information about your business, products and services here.

I am the Co-founder and CEO of Foresee Aviation & founder of BookMyJet. 
Foresee Aviation is a private charter company that offers premium aviation services. 

BookMyJet is a soon to be launched mobile application that allows convenient, easy, and transparent booking service at your fingertips. 

Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/ doing business?

Every company during the launch stage needs huge amount of capital to get started. I faced the same problem of raising the funds and had to borrow extensively from family and friends besides getting the essential bank loans. Needless to say, we poured in our entire life savings into our dream venture and lived without pay for a couple of months. 

Besides money, there was also the problem of trust. As a new brand, it was difficult for us to convince our customers to hire our chartered services even at extremely low prices. 

Q4. Share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business.

Our discovery period was tough and we had to maintain extreme patience to convince customers about the value and benefit of our services. As new business people we encountered strong competition from the established businesses. It was difficult for us to convert the first few customers. Yet, we believed in our services and knew that we had something better to offer. Hence, we continuously reached out to customers and honestly informed them of our products. We worked to maintain strong relationships with our regular patrons and even today consistently reach out to them when something new is on the offer.

Once people travelled with us, they instantly recognized our superior services and recommended us to their peer. The stellar service, the attention to details, and the high safety measures ensured complete customer satisfaction. Foresee Aviation became an established name in the chartered aircraft segment and bagged numerous national and international clients.

Q5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period.

Initially when I entered into the General Aviation sector, the market was not that huge. There were a limited number of players who desired chartered services as the industry suffered from lack of exposure. Even people who could afford chartered planes shied away from it and instead travelled through business class flights. Therefore, after the discovery period, I focused my energy on marketing experiments and extensively promoted the business. I also remained connected with my customers and ensured that they had the latest updates on aircrafts and services, and any new development in the industry. It provided greater exposure to private aviation industry and acquired a greater number of clienteles. 

Q6. What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?

Right now, my dream mobile app, BookMyJet, is ready to be launched. It would open a new chapter into the page of luxury flying. Initially, the private aviation sector was limited to the privileged class. But, with the launch of BookMyJet even common people could avail the chartered flight services and make their flying experiences memorable. 

I believe that private jets define individuality, freedom, and privacy. They provide heightened safety and comfort, and deliver people to their destinations in the fastest possible way. It also makes a strong style and power statement. So, people have many reasons to book a chartered flight besides the obvious reasons of speed, safety, and hassle-free journey. 

Q7. What would you advice/ suggest new entrepreneurs who want to start and sustain in business?

I believe that India is a hub of entrepreneurs and every businessperson is coming up with new and exciting idea. My advice to new entrepreneurs would be to see the gap in an industry and provide a product or service that fills the gap. If you possess the right vision and urge then you can easily achieve your desired milestone. Your focus should be on quality and customer satisfaction and this would transform into success and loyal customers. Moreover, promotion and marketing are the tools to getting noticed. So, remember to join the right portals like social media platforms to connect with the probable customers and invest quality time in promoting the business.
